Martin Swaine - Keynote

Martin SwaineMartin Swaine
4D Program Manager, Project Excellence, Projects & Technology
Shell International Petroleum

Martin Swaine is responsible for development of 4D technology in Shell, which involves connecting in-house and external EPC contractors to promote use of the multi-dimensional engineering model in construction sequence, progress, completions, commissioning and handover. He has 27 years’ experience in oil & gas for greenfield & brownfield and offshore facilities design and construction.

Current and Emerging Technology for  Oil & Gas Mega-Projects

Global scale oil & gas construction projects are too large for a single EPC, and now involve the complex integration of the owner-operator with multiple contractors. Martin will share the current state of 3D measurement and integration technology, and plans for next five years and beyond including considerations for working in the cloud and integrated 4D project management, utilizing mobile devices and ruggedized tablets, and enhancing communications with the millennial generation. The end goal is providing energy more safely and efficiently; it’s not just owner-operators and EPCs but everyone in the 3D imaging and mapping market that can help shape the future of energy production.
